Shipping, Incoterms and the documents you receive

What FOB, CFR and CIF mean for a shipment from Vietnam, how much of each product fits in a container, and which documents travel with the goods.

Our prices are FOB, at the loading port named on each product page. FOB means the price covers everything up to the ship’s rail there, and you book the freight. Ask for CFR and we add the ocean freight to the port you name, or CIF and we add the marine insurance as well.

How much fits in a container depends on the product and its packing. The table on this page gives the tonnes per 20ft and 40ft container for every product, and your quotation prints the estimate for the tonnage you ask for, so you can book the slot before you confirm the order.

The Certificate of Origin (C/O) is what gives you the FTA duty rate, so tell us the form you need when you confirm the order.

Transit is roughly three weeks to the Gulf, four to five weeks to northern Europe and five to six weeks to the east coast of the United States, depending on the carrier and the transhipment.
